Whether we achieve liftoff remains to be seen. I thought I’d try blogging through a MySpace account I had set up months back and had never done anything with. But so far, that’s not been very productive (although I did get whomever handles Amy Grant’s MySpace marketing account to add me as a “friend” and found exactly one person from my high school class on there). Not that switching to WordPress is going to change my laziness, but at least it feels a lot less creepy than the “how many ‘friends’ can I add to my list” and “how bizarre and irritating can I make the background on my page” mentality that I sense on MySpace. Not that the few friends I have listed on my page fall into that, but it doesn’t take much surfing of other MySpace sites to find it. Plus, I guess I just feel, somehow, too old for MySpace, which is odd, since displaying maturity certainly isn’t one of my strong points. But (again with exceptions, of course), the general vibe I get over there is of the teen and 20something crowd, which working at a college continually reminds me is not my peer group—nothing like being surrounded by people young enough to be my kids to remind me that I’m old enough to be their dad (odd how that works, huh?).
So, will this effort be any better? Stay tuned to find out. And don’t be surprised if it doesn’t.
Boy, do I know that “old enough to be their dad” feeling in my work at ASU!!!
Thanks for your comment on my blog earlier, and thanks for the link here!
God bless in your blogging.

Mike,
Good to find you finding me again. It’s like our old days on WGRR AM radio “Runoff from the Mountains.” What a great slogan.
Didn’t know you had the itch to express yourself. It’s a good start here.
I told you we’d get rid of Scott one day, and we finally did it. I’ve also taken over Scott’s Myspace.. Silentt71. Check it out.. there are some bloggins there too.
Keep in touch,
Brock
Steve- Thanks for stopping by.
Brock, my old nemesisisisisis- I had thought the next time I would hear from you would be when you took over at the mighty News 13, now that AccuTom has jumped ship.
